FACE HUNTER

More than just a street style photographer, Yvan Rodic also known as Face Hunter is a cultural explorer or 'blogtrotter’—
a new breed of traveler on a perpetual mission to scout out the latest global trends and current cultural happenings. 

Rodic (1977-) was Born in Vevey, a French-speaking part of Switzerland. After studying Communication at Polycom Lausanne he took on copy writing stints for Leo Burnett and Saatchi & Saatchi in Geneva, Brussels and
Paris. 
A born trend-spotter with a natural eye for photography, it was not long before he combined writing for magazines with snapping pictures of people at art events in his then home, Paris. 

In February 2006,he began posting the results online: and just like that, Face Hunter was born. When he began, streetstyle blogging was still in its infancy: in part it is thanks to his work that it has subsequently become a
phenomenon. As one of those to experience first-hand the insatiable public appetite for a more democratic view on fashion.
Just four years on, Yvan found himself amongst a select group—one of fashion's “power bloggers” featured in
the March 2010 issue of American Vogue magazine alongside Garance Doré, Tommy Ton, Haneli and Todd Selby. Widely considered one of the most influential movers and shakers in fashion, his original blog and more
recent Visual Diary receive approximately 1.5 million hits per month. Over this short period, Yvan has been at the vanguard of one of the decade’s most remarkable trends. With the telling tag line: “Eye Candy for
the Style Hungry” above portraits of individual characters with arresting styles, Face Hunter instantly developed a
reputation for being one of the most satisfying style destinations online.

The Caravan Gallery is a mobile exhibition venue and visual arts project run by artists Jan Williams and Chris Teasdale who are on a mission to record the ordinary and extraordinary details of life in 21stcentury Britain. Eager to examine clichés and cultural trends, we are particularly drawn to absurd anomalies and curious juxtapositions, typical of places in transition and in the process of reinventing themselves as regeneration fever sweeps the land.

Peter Fengler (1964, NL) is an explicit performer who, in this performance, comes up with a story based on the

theme “BAROQUE, NON-BAROQUE: A Story of Proportionism,” which utilizes a unique polymorphous construction in which indicators in the form of “suggestions” play the leading role. In other words, he seeks to redefine nuance from a musico-linguistic angle. The repercussions of this approach can be found in his self-cut vinyl record productions, performances, written texts and lectures. The work invariably reverberates somewhere between intellectual pursuits and nonsense, expresses a fondness for “ultrahobbyism,” and is characterized by its subversive undertones with all of its related disturbing lucidity and preferences for a decided anti-aesthetic. It is both a commentary on contemporary political issues as well as a reflection on the medium and the scene itself. Ultimately, it is not what it appears to be while, at the same time, it is nothing more than what it is. 

Fengler is also the co-founder and key figure of DE PLAYER, a venue dedicated to the performative arts, experimental music and visual arts. DE PLAYER’s record label produces limited audio-visual editions in exquisite multimedia packaging by artists working in the sound and visual arts.
